A place of serenity.
Igreja de São Miguel Arcanjo (Church of St Michael the Archangel) is one of the oldest churches in Goa which was built by the Dominicans in 1544. It is also the only church in the town. The Chapel(Prayer Room)of Blessed Sacrament was annexed in 2006.It is open even during lunch hours and is the best place to be one with your Creator.
The Taleigão parish celebrates the harvest feast with pomp and gaiety on 21 August, and the feast of the patron on the nearest Sunday on or after 29 September
This is my family's Parish Church. I have been going here since my childhood, through my teens and now my adulthood. The church is a heritage structure built in the Portuguese era. The interiors, architecture, ancient artifacts and handwork is a labour of love. The church also has a dedicated space for the blessed sacrament, however it is currently closed for visits due to the pandemic. During my Catechism days I would always marvel at the tastefully carved gold wood works, the high vaulted ceilings, the giant paintings that narrate a verse from the Bible and the grand doorways. Apart from Christmas, New Year and Easter among the other feast masses celebrated cross the world, the church also celebrates masses that are of cultural significance to Goa such as the Harvest Feast.
