Alt food co is a space where the anthropology of food culture meets the expertise, love, and care that goes into honouring cuisines from across the globe. Having attended their recent event on 'Pork Traditions', not only was one subjected to the loveliest food, but also, the gracious hospitality of the cooking team, led by Gauri, and the expertise of Narayanan, who is a whiz when it comes to knowledge. Such spaces inevitably attract fabulous crowds, and that is what one experienced over a lovely night at Alt Food Co.
Alt. Food Co. is a hidden gem for anyone passionate about food and culinary learning. The chefs here aren’t just talented—they’re deeply knowledgeable and eager to share their expertise. The trainers create engaging, hands-on classes that cater to all skill levels, making each session both fun and enriching.
We had our child's school mates and some friends learn to cook together..in a private event ... and they absolutely loved the experience of both learning and eating what they cooked.
Special mention of Chef Pritika and Chef Trisha who also ensured love was spread around .... With safety and basically ensuring everyone was enjoying the experience.
While the kids had their share, the adult had a super experience too. Their mediterranean platter was simple delicious and healthy.
The owners of this space Gowri and Narayanan are very delightful hosts and very understanding of every client needs. They are flexible to alternative thinking and also super sportive to innovation and creation.
The kitchen itself is cozy yet impressively equipped, striking a perfect balance between professional-grade tools and a warm, inviting atmosphere. Hygiene standards are clearly a top priority, and the staff is exceptionally well-trained and welcoming.
Overall, Alt. Food Co. offers great food classes and has an inspiring space to learn, create, and connect.
Highly recommended! For all age groups .
Wonderful baking class conducted by Aashna- passionate and experienced baker who expertly guided us through this hands on process. Baked delicious focaccia, Japanese milk bread, chocolate and pestos pinwheels! Great atmosphere with a beautiful cooking space and a a chance to learn a new skill with a fun group.
Great experience learning about Taiwanese cuisine. The team at Alt Food was friendly, knowledgeable and they made the whole experience fun and informative both! Looking forward to attending another session soon!
I attended the Austronesian Expansion: Taiwan session and it was brilliant! The stories about food and ingredients and how they ended up on our plates, the history of cuisines and people, the various tips and tricks around cooking and the dinner with fellow cooks after 2 and a half hours of cooking - everything was so well curated! The energy of Gowri and the instructors was impeccable. I'm definitely coming back for more sessions ❤️
