Unfortunately, our experience at this Airbnb was disappointing due to the caretaker’s behavior and lack of support throughout our stay.
The caretaker was largely unhelpful and unfriendly. He refused to assist with lunch and dinner, declined help with basic requests like ironing, and was only willing to work during very limited, self-defined timings, with no flexibility or communication. The overall vibe was unwelcoming and made us feel uncomfortable asking for even basic assistance.
During our 4-day stay, breakfast was cooked only once, which was unexpected and not aligned with what we were led to believe while booking. There was no proactive effort to make guests feel comfortable or supported.
Hospitality is a key part of any stay, and sadly that was missing here. I hope the host takes this feedback seriously and addresses the caretaker’s attitude and service expectations so future guests don’t face the same issues.
Looks exactly like photos - STUNNING & spacious Air B & B!!! Home was clean, aesthetically beautiful & fully stocked! We really enjoyed the lovely furniture, pool, bathtub, crisp white linens & large kitchen! Staff were so hospitable, easy to communicate with & attentive. Host was very responsive & welcoming. We did not want to leave & we will be coming again!
Villa Kamalaya is beautiful with a lovely view of the green fields. The bedrooms are comfortable and clean, We spent maximum time in the pool and it was well maintained.
The home is just as described, The host and caretakers ensured the trip was easy for me and my family extremely helpful. All in all we had a very pleasant stay…
Vinayak the famous seafood place is just literally next door. The location of the property made it very convenient for us to cover Anjuna Vagator and Morjim.. Highly Recommend Kamalaya for your next stay in Goa.
I’ve stayed at a lot of villas in the past but very few have the right feel specially as they’re constantly used by different people. Kamalaya assagao’s vibe was just right! and it’s one the pictures don’t do justice to. As you enter the gate the first sight you’re greeted with is of the pool and a small distant patio giving one a sneak peak of the neighbouring lush fields through the overhead hanging bougainvilleas. One must commend the landscaping of the place, done tastefully, a real treat for plant lovers who are deprived of similar settings in the bustle of cities . The villa by itself was clean, well maintained and welcoming.. the kitchen well stocked. The location was excellent too considering there was a supermarket, a pharmacy and restaurants (one of them being the famous Vinayak) at close walking distance. The host was available on WA at all times and was super helpful. The caretakers on the property - Pritam and Lalita were warm, helpful and made us the best poha and egg bhurji for breakfast which took me back to summers at my grandparents place. We’d have liked to stay longer than the checkout time (11 am).. but as we too are familiar to the hospitality industry we know the consequences of late checkouts the hosts face when the next guests are due to arrive and it’s the least we could do to give back for the lovely hospitality . all in all a great stay!
Terrible Experience — Please Read Before Booking
I stayed at this villa in Goa, and it was honestly one of the worst Airbnb experiences I’ve had. Posting this here because the host somehow manages to get negative reviews deleted — which explains the suspiciously clean ratings.
Let’s start with the accusations: the host claimed we had extra guests, when in reality, two of our friends simply dropped us off because they had a car. They didn’t stay, didn’t even use the space. I even asked the host to verify with the caretaker who was literally present on-site — yet he kept messaging and bothering us unnecessarily till the morning.
Then came the ₹6,500 fine — for checking out just one hour late. Mind you, the check-in time is 2 PM, and we were out by noon. There was no next guest waiting, no chaos caused. Most places offer at least a 30-minute grace period, but apparently, here, you’re billed like it’s a luxury hotel lobby.
Now the cherry on top: he claimed we “messed up” the house (attached the photos what he called messed up - these photos what he sent complaining). Let me be real — people come to Goa to relax, not to perform a full cleaning service before they leave. Isn’t that why you have a caretaker? Basic post-checkout cleaning is standard in any Airbnb, and if your team can’t handle that, you shouldn’t be in the hospitality business.
I had left a detailed review on Airbnb — but surprise, it got deleted. So I’m writing this here in the hope that it helps someone make an informed decision. If you’re looking for an stress-free, respectful stay — skip this one.
