While staying at a homestay in Panjim, our host recommended Padaria Prazeres, and I’m so glad we took their suggestion. It turned out to be one of those lovely little discoveries that makes a trip feel more personal.
The first thing that caught my attention was the beautiful, colourful setting. The bright yellow and blue façade, traditional Portuguese-inspired details, patterned tiles and abundance of plants give the place so much character. It feels very Goan and has a wonderfully relaxed, neighbourhood-bakery charm.
We stopped by for a casual evening coffee and snack and enjoyed some of their fresh bakery items along with a refreshing watermelon drink. Everything felt simple, fresh and comforting.
I particularly enjoyed sitting outside. There is something very pleasant about having a pastry and a drink while watching the everyday rhythm of Panjim go by.
Padaria Prazeres is definitely worth a visit if you're exploring Panjim and looking for a relaxed bakery/café experience with plenty of local character. Come for a leisurely coffee and something from the bakery, sit outside, and simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Some of the best desserts I've ever had are here. Not hyperbole. The Pasteis & Baileys Ganache Berliner (gets over quickly!) are amazing.
It's a quaint little place. Getting indoor seating is difficult because the whole of Goa decends here in the evenings. Even queues just to pay/pick up strech almost half the length of the cafe.
During my 3-day stay in Panjim, this place became my daily breakfast ritual — and for good reason.
Day 1:Tried the B.L.T sandwich, carrot cake, and Vietnamese coffee — all absolutely fantastic.
Day 2:Went for eggs Benedict, a chicken sausage roll, and a cappuccino — the coffee was excellent and the food didn’t disappoint.
Day 3:Had the sloppy Joe, beef pie, and their 16-hour brewed coffee — hands down the best coffee I’ve ever had. Also picked up a box of pasteis de nata to take back home.
A spot I’d return to in a heartbeat!
Padaria Prazeres is a cute little bakery/café with a lovely atmosphere. Both the food and the ambience are really good, making it a great place to relax.
I’ve tried the pastéis de nata, which are excellent, as well as the avocado toast and the breakfast sandwiches, all very good. The pesto egg bowl was nice too, though I personally found the pesto a little overpowering, which comes down to personal preference. Overall, it was a great visit and definitely a place I’d recommend.
